The lad gave 100 % every game when,for me, out of his natural position more often than not. In a better system I believe he will come good so it's a yes from Moyn.

My point is we should have attacking players who chip in with goals and create goals where unfortunately Rutherford does neither, if you're happy with him scoring 2 goals a season and 2 assists you really are easily pleased. I love the phrase 'he'll come good', his stats for his whole career will tell you he won't score goals or create many so would love to know why you think he'll 'come good'?

A quick google will tell you 338 games and 17 goals (I know Wiki isn't exact) so it's a bold statement saying 'he'll come good'

I must have seen him play in around 20 times, and I have to figure out where his best position is. If all his fans can say is that he gives 100% -don't book the play off hotel ! Very average, too small, too slow and not up to it.

So don't book the play off hotel based on one signing?

I would prefer to wait and see who else we get in before I decide to book a hotel for the play offs......

I am upbeat about our general chances. None of our other signings will be of this Calibre. Rutherford cannot believe his luck that a club like WAFC want him. As he left Deans office, I am sure he bought a lottery ticket on his way home!

He's a worker and it does give some continuity.

However if we really are to get go where we aspire I can't see him being a regular starter.

You're so condescending with every post I thought you were right on everything. Fact is just because our manager rates players doesn't mean we have to. Going on your theory we would ha e been fine last year as mills gave a contract to nortei, Bakare et al so they must be of sufficient quality. Fact is many of us have watched Rutherford fail to produce a bean for the majority of the season and believe that no matter what players he has around him he isn't going to suddenly start waltzing around full backs and putting in crosses that actually make the penalty area.
