Lincoln fans never rated Farman, Wood, Waterfall and some were not convinced with Hawkridge before the start of last season. They were all key to their promotion season. Just shows that under a better manager/coach, you can get more out of players. Lincoln were an ugly but clinical team, you don't need a team full of quality, but a team that fights and sticks their foot in where it hurts.

Difference is they're all defenders or keeper except Hawkbridge, as far as I'm concerned attacking players must create of score goals otherwise what use are they. Hawkbridge has played at a higher level and scored goals and played in the leagues below and scored a lot of goals, the prime objective of an attacking player is to score or create so does Rutherford do this? No not at all, I've nothing against the lad as I like his attitude and professionalism but he doesn't do it.

He had some lovely assists last season.

remember his run at the southport defence late on before picking out kai edwards to steer home?

Or that ball into the box for white to attack vs maidstone that saw us go 1-0 before wilting?

I think his crossing is pretty good.

How many assists did he have this season 2? How many goals? 2? Most have been saying this season it's not the strikers that are shit it's that they're not getting supplied with chances, so should Rutherford rightly be criticised for not creating goals or scoring?

Some players can find that extra level when they're playing with better teammates. Rutherford didn't have that last season, so it's hard to judge him. I'm more than confident that he will this season, so we'll see how he adjusts to it, because he'll know that if he doesn't perform well, he'll lose his place, which again wasn't the case last season, he had no competition.

It wasn't playing with poor players that stopped him beating a man, out pacing a man or even lasting 90 minutes was it. He hasn't scored or had many assists in his whole career which showed last season so at 29/30 why is he going to improve next season? You said yesterday that Robbie Willmott was finished but with 40 plus assists in the league below and still only 26 yet you're more happy with Rutherford.

Blimey, I just gave you two examples off the top of my head to support my view he has decent delivery. I can't recall all his assists - sorry!

would be best on the right of a front three I think.

Apologies for being sharp, I just think to get out this league you need goals and I can't see them coming from Rutherford. (Or assists)
