Fantastic news, best signing of recent years. My only question (and probably a stupid one) is, Dean mentions Dan Nolan...who's he?

He's an academy coach.

Excellent appointment. It would have been our loss of he went elsewhere. This is the equivalent of signing one of the league's best players. Anyone who thinks we are heading in the wrong direction should take note of this signing.

Sounds like he would make a top manager himself - very pleased indeed with this - with him and Dean at the helm it's great to have such professionalism at the club once again

Can't be more happy with this. Darlingtons the sort of man who can get 25% extra out of any player. Exactly what we need.

A fantastic signing because it says so much about Keates. Lots of people say they want to learn, very few recruit a teacher to do it. The Dragonheart interview with Darlington last year told me he loves to teach but also loves to learn. I had wondered if Keates thought knew it all, he has now clearly demonstrated he doesn't.

I am absolutely sure next season will be better than last now. My opinion of Keates has improved considerably by this signing. With a reasonably spent budget the playoffs are in reach.

Not once have I felt arrogance from Keates and this just backs it up. We have a total opposite from Mills. We've gone from an arrogant dinosaur who wanted it easy, to a workaholic confident manager who wants to better himself and learn.

It really is exciting times ahead.

Mido did his coaches badges through the Welsh FA so Darlington would have been one of his tutors.

He helped him get his coaching badges through his work with the FAW. Dragon Park seems to be the go to place for aspiring coaches nowadays.

Edit: Just noticed Gresford Dragon beat me to it.

The definition of enthusiastic there. If he can instil some of that into the team then it all bodes well. It will take time though and we may need to show the three of them some patience to start with. What no one can doubt now is that everyone i.e. the board, management and fans all want the same thing and are pulling in the same direction.

[QUOTE=pricey;2027342]Well done Dean Keates.

I'm off to get a shirt with Darlington on the back. But will people think I'm supporting Darlington FC?

Maybe just a T-shirt with Carl's head on it would be better.m

How about the caption

"Oh my Darling (ton)"

I suggest we get a few hundred printed. Most likely be a collectors item in a few years when we've caught Swansea up in the Prem.

I get the impression that if a player Cassidy was signing tomorrow, we'd put it off for a few days for the sake of Dixie's health.

Just listened to Carl's interview. If the players absorb just 50% of his enthusiasm we should be in for a good season. He kept talking about "shared values" with Dean. I feel as if we have made a huge break with the last few years. Let's hope they can get in some decent players who will blend quickly into an effective team. Maybe Carl's presence will encourage young Welsh players who are playing higher up the pyramid to take a chance with us. Good luck lads.

Was thinking the same, he will know players from the Welsh set up who might fancy a chance here, it's time for us to stop messing about!!!
