I think minimum expectations should be:

17/18 - Play off challenge, finish at least within
18/19 - Play offs. Missing out within the last couple of games can be forgiven
19/20 - Play offs

Obviously I'm hoping for more, but this is the bare minimum of what Keates needs to achieve in his time here. We can't expect a title challenge every year as we don't know whether we'll get another Fleetwood or Crawley in those years.

Not true. We don't need a mission statement. It's just patter.

Success is a successful team on the pitch. It always has been the case with football. We don't need to reinvent the wheel. Keates needs to sign some decent players within our budget and we see how they get on next season.

I would be very happy if in 3 years we were still in this league and running as a full time club. I have no expectation for us to be competing for promotion before then. We have a manager and assistant who have no previous managerial experience, a very average budget and a coach who is only able to commit part time.
One thing i would like to see us achieve in this 3 years is some outside investment that should be activley been sort by the trust from year 1.

Then why do you think ALL the businesses in the FTSE 100 have one?

It might be a requirement of being on the FTSE 100?

I don't know, just suggesting..

It probably isn't a requirement for us to have one.

Because they are expected to - they make not one iota of difference in how the business actually operates

As for my expectations over the next 3 years?

I want us to be challenging the top 5 next season, with a view to getting in there on a consistent basis thereafter until we eventually get promoted.

Realistically, I will be happy with continued progression that will see us competing in the play off picture or for titles, whether that takes us 3 years or 10.

It's not a requirement of the FTSE 100 (do you know what the FTSE is??)
Did you read the link I posted? I doubt it.

if you only issue one year contracts then your expectations must remain the same each year without stepped improvement. Which is fair enough., but you can't issue one year contracts and say we want to build for a title challenge in three years.
