So asking people to subscribe to a service offering free highlights and content instead of a paid for subscription is begging?

Would you rather they didn't tell anyone about it? The club can't win sometimes. If they didn't advertise it people would be moaning about a lack of communication.

its free and so easy to subscribe.

More subscribers helps with more adverts then its a no brainer and just a few clicks away.

The word "subscribe" to me, is associated with spending money. If that's not the case, couldn't we call it "enrolling or joining"? Anyway, sounds like a welcome addition.

It's called subscribing by YouTube, calling it something else would be confusing.
