Elokobi played for someone like Braintree at the racecourse last season and was excellent. Better than this level imo

Tranmere Rovers destroy Cammel Lairds today in a pre season friendly with james Alabi signed from Chester making his debut and playing up front with Andy Cook.

8 - 0 up after a mere 24 minutes the game finished 11 - 0 with Alabi scoring 5.

Fairly difficult to judge how good a defender was against our lot last season, given that goals were hard to come by. He was also a part of their 6-1 drubbing to Dover.

I think he's a decent signing at this level but if he was a League 2 level player, he'd have gone to a League 2 club. He's not exactly an unearthed gem.

Possibly. Who knows what teams have been put out. Having played cymru alliance I would say the one thing they have over the Cheshire leagues is a stable team. Wheareas teams such as cammell laird tend to have an unstable squad every year. Id imagine it was just a team of misfits trying out. Looking at their website I can't even see a squad list

Tranmere started with their strongest side possible - injuries permitting and the now slimline Cook and Alabi linked up really well together both assisting each other with goals and Cook even giving the ball to Alabi to take the peno - absolutely no chance of Cook joining Wrexham I spoke to him at half time and he laughed when I mentioned Wrexham and his words "why would I go there?" "we're here to win the league"

Best strike force in the league Cook + Alabi with Norwood, Mangan, Jennings, Waring and Kirby as back up and with our numerous wizards on the wings Tollitt, Dunn, Rokka and Dawson we now have some firepower for this level.

Really looking forward to your visit to PP one of the only games I enjoy in this horrendous league - I genuinely hope you have a decent season this time around and are involved in the promotion race it will only make things that bit more interesting and let's be honest neither of us should be rotting down here! Good luck in finding the elusive "number 9" you so much desire - but as fans I'd honestly give up on Cook it's just not happening at all I'm afraid....
