Don't forget much of our team are completely new players. Most of Tranmere players have been playing together much longer.

Cammel Laird shipped over 100 goals last season. Nevertheless 11 goals is impressive whoever you are playing. Tranmere will be up there this season no doubt, easily the favourites for the league for me. But no wonder looking at their squad, which won't be coming cheap. Mellon is an excellent manager and one who knows how to get out of this league.

Rather them than Dagenham anyway, at least Tranmere have a good amount of fans. Tranmere champions us up through the play offs (or even better vice versa) would be ideal.

Personally I would prefer to go up at Wembley if the nerves could stand it although going up either as Champions or Play off winners does have different advantages.

Cammel Lairds leak goals like a sieve it's true - but you can only beat what's put infront of you.

The beauty of Tranmere's squad is it's now showing both quality and depth with options going forward - they had four quality strikers last season in Cook, Norwood, Stockton & Mangan and had the luxury of benching two from that four - I'm not sure we have the depth to bring on replacements or cover for injuries and suspensions that they have - it's a long hard season and you do need a quality eleven every match for the nine months.

Another matter worth mentioning - I saw the team sheet from Wednesday night when they played Liverpool and was surprised and glad to see Jay Harris is now back in action after his knee injury - thought he would have been out much longer than he has been.

Decent strikers win games and at the moment, Im not sure we have what's required to challenge.

If Cook is that good why was in on the bench for the play off final and why haven't clubs in a higher league taken a chance on him.

I think we need to give up on whatever slim hope we had regarding Cook.
In fact I think Gime will be the final striker signing, not some big name.

Anyone who hasn't given up on Cook is living in a fantasy world. All the top strikers are signed up or out of reach but I think Boden's a very good signing.

I agree on your second point too, Touré will be the striker and Wright will be the midfielder. I'm happy with both signing.

Hopefully, after these 2 signings, there is money or money can be spared for a utility defender and/or another striker, should the need arise early season or the right players become available.
