Re: Christian Dibble SIGNED
The latest addition to Dean Keates’ new look squad for 2017/18 is goalkeeper Christian Dibble, the former Wales U19 cap who started with Bury and Barnsley, but has most recently been on the books at Nuneaton Town, while seeing out the season on loan at promotion chasing Chorley.
The 23-year-old is son of former Wrexham, Manchester City and Wales keeper Andy Dibble, began his career as a youth player with Bury before joining League One club Barnsley in July 2013. Without breaking into the first team at Oakwell, Christian joined Conference Premier side Nuneaton Town on loan in late November 2014 and made his debut, winning the man of the match award, in a home success against Chester. Christian performed well in five games for Nuneaton before Barnsley re-called him a month later. In search of more first-team experience, he was out on loan again in August 2015, this time to National League South club Chelmsford City. The Clarets won their first two games with Christian in goal, keeping a clean-sheet in the second fixture away to Maidstone - and before returning to his parent club, he had played in 18 games. The following February, he left Barnsley, by mutual consent, seeking more senior games and signed a permanent contract until the end of the season back at Chelmsford. In all, across both spells, Christian would play 28 League games for the Clarets. Last summer, he signed for National League North club Boston United, but a month later cancelled his contract and returned to Nuneaton Town in September 2016. Late in April, he joined Chorley as emergency seven-day cover for the injured Ritchie Branagan, which was extended for a second week into the play-offs. He featured in the Magpies’ last two league fixtures and was on the bench against Kidderminster Harriers, before heading back to Nuneaton. |
