My anxiety levels are high this morning......all these great signings will mean nothing, if Keates doesn't get quality front men in.

I think the main criticism of our past 3 managers has been a lack of plan b. Let's not pretend morrell ever tried to venture away from saunders' successful formula. Even stuck to 433 if it meant himself, ormerod and adebola being the front 3.

He may of, once again 'out of position' but what did he chip in with? In 30 games (not 90 minutes as he hardly finished a game) 2 goals and 2 assists, this good enough for promotion? Not even close.

The delay in getting strikers in , or even rumours thereof, is perhaps to do with the fact that true goalscorers are like rocking horse s... Over a 100 league and Conference managers all want at least one and they can pick and choose where they go. They are also priced (and price themselves !! ) accordingly. I doubt we have enough money to get two of the sort of player we all want - so maybe others suggestion on here may be right and we may need the loan market. We will probably be able to get the big man, Danny Wright type because there are many of them in the "getting past it state" out there who could still do a promotion job. The pacy off the shoulder, in the right place goalscorer is another matter and that may have more chance from a loan.

Our 98 point season we scored 55 league goals from our 5 forward players. Speight 21, Pogba 12, Morrell 10, Wright 6, Ciss 6.
We need goals from all over. I think I'm happy in holroyd to get 10+, think we need another and then also a 20+ striker.
One thing I remember from the 98point season was how well we defended from the top all the way through to the back. When Danny Wright was suspended early on in the season we missed his work rate massively and I recall losing a few games with him absent. I'm really happy with what Keates seems to be building here. Get a goalscorer and we will be laughing. Really do think he is going about things the right way and we should be challenging this season, then if it doesn't quite work out this year, I'm fairly confident we could kick on again the following season with abit of tinkering as opposed to a complete rebuild.

I am sure DK is working on this. Not sure we will get three but we do need two players capable of scoring goals (to avoid the use of any confusing terminology) Regarding Plan B this is where I truly believe Darlington will come in because I believe he understands the game at a deeper level then DK but where DK scores points is a no nonsense approach to management and in particular man management.

Darlington understands the game at a deeper level than Keates? Really?
