Default Re: Striker signing "agreed"

nobody other than the board and management have an idea what he will be costing us if indeed it is him

id be surprised if we are paying him the kind of wags he was on at ict if they are able to bring in 2 players and have change with his wages. having said that they may be bringing in bakare and harrod, we don't know what quality they are replacing him with.

my knowledge of conference strikers is poor therefore i am open minded and will wait and see what the season brings. definitely have confidence in dean. he promised he wouldn't be wasting fans btb money and as he doesnt look like politician i for one believe him

Really exciting and ambitious signing if true. Been playing at a higher lever for the last few seasons, including the SPL last season. Lots of goals at this level and only 27. He has a good chance of getting 20+ for us next season in my view.

He has played at a higher level, but not last season

Looks a good signing and fits in with the profile of other keates signings i.e. late 20's and played 200 games at this level.

Oh, and played for Macclesfield!

Which striker signing would have you satisfied and not underwhelmed then?

I probably shouldn't of Posted that as it wasn't meant to be serious just a touch of sarcasm because of all the self appointed experts on who's a good signing and who isn't, based on last season some were making out because of clips on Utube that we were signing Scotlands version of Maradona when we signed White, until it's confirmed it's Boden and I've seen him actually playing for us then I don't really have a view or him, in other words I'm not building my expectancy up too much as I've said in previous post any signing is a gamble, I suppose what I'm trying to say is after the last 10 season down here of disappointment I will wait and see that applies to all the signings and whatever strikers we get in. All I will say on paper Dean has done very well.

If you come on here, insulting every poster on here by calling them 'self appointed experts', then you're going to have a hard time.

You're more than welcome to be pessimistic however and I guess we need to accept that not every signing will achieve unanimous praise. Personally, I think Boden will do a fantastic job for us and has more about him than his goals. I also believe that with this side and Darlington behind the scenes, it will be very surprising if we miss out on the play offs this time around and we may even challenge the top spot.

I was convinced it was Rhead, but if it is Boden then I think it is a good signing, especially with the Macclesfield connection. I agree with the comment about Gary Bennett. Who would have thought? You never know with a striker. I can see goals coming from all over with this team. Could you imagine what would happen if Lex beat us!!!
