The consensus is that the contracted player is either Rhead, Boden, Bowman or Mangan, not forgetting Cook fits the bill.
Plus clues could also point to Alabi.

Bowman seems the most likely given the clues - or Dusty Bin

Cant see Rhead leaving Lincoln, is Boden still under contract, don't think Keates would go for Mangan but Cook maybe a possibility.

I thought it maybe Alabi but he isn't under contract, still quite surprised he hasn't moved yet and think he must be worth a contract.

I suspect Oliver has a clause of release in his contract 'in the event of relegation. Mills stated shortly after the FA Trophy final that he Oliver would be leaving to play at a higher level even though Mills quite openly stated he wanted to keep him at York. Perhaps it's Oliver's shout but wasn't it mid last week when he was sighted with his agent having a stadium tour ? perhaps he has other options but if is / was going to sign you would assume it would be very soon.

As regards Alabi - it maybe similar to 'a chain' in a house move - until all the components are agreed between a number of clubs then it's stalemate, for instance Alabi moves to Lincoln on agreement with Chester at which point they release Rhead who is then available for us to sign - something along these lines might well explain the continued delays and frustration we all feel and the slow process to get a signing over the line.

Hope it is Bowman, Cook, Boden or Alabi.Or even 2 of them.
Alabi possibly out due to out of contract and wanting 3 year deal allegedly.
Any of the others would surely be 2 year deal as only 3 so far on 2 years and be good to think of Keates having 2 years to go up /build a side.
Age might rule Rhead out of a 2 year deal and with a small squad be good to limit 30somethings.
