Marx, Rutherford Leo Smith and Dibble are probably squad fillers. ..I still think on top of the likely signing of boden a decent striker and midfielder are vital. That would take us to 17 leaving space for 2 trials trialists to impress to make a 19 man squad.

We didn't let Harris or Jennings go the other way. They were at the end of their contracts and turned us down and were free to go wherever they wanted

I hope we will sign another Holroyd level striker on top.of boden, but I don't think we'll be bringing Amy firs t team level players after that. Youngsters and do a job types I think after that

18 is a minimum but 19 would obviously increase options and give that little bit more cover. I'm not sure about the term squad fillers when DK is on about operating with a small squad, we need every player capable of forcing a run in the team even the team 2 youngsters, otherwise the first 11 become complacent and we lose that competetive edge. Gone are the days where teams like us can carry players for their development.

i disagree.. i think we need some quality on the bench also.. we are not gonna go through the season without losing players to injury and/or suspensions.

plus the obligatory best players leaving in january as we normally seem to do.

having half decent players on the bench to come on as subs is fine yes.. but to cover suspensions and injuries we need quality who can start

We should have money to spend surely.
Only fee paid out so far was Mackreth.
We've been saving from last season - BTB funds, 16,000 visitors to the 2 concerts, Rooney money, Neil Taylor, the lad who went to Brighton - just need Moult to move on from Motherwell.
If we got Cooke or similar it would bring in extra bums on seats for sure and with it more money in the till.

We may have some money eventually when all the above come to fruition but we've also got a stadium to maintain and "develop" (Holes in roof, lack of facilities etc)

Any money received will go in part to the first team budget but won't be wasted.
We need to build up funds for more than a one off shot at going up. The Rooney fee will be quite small, Taylor fee will be paid in 3 or 4 stages, Money from Brighton will go to COE. We are not flush with cash so don't expect the club to splash out on Marquee signings.

Don't forget our starting point was a £200k Racecourse deficit. Yes we have an additional £50K in BtB and the concerts will make a dent in the deficit, but not sure how much other funds will be available directly to DK in the short term.
