Lincoln and Cheltenham would argue against that. But I agree it is very important. Should be the cherry on top of a very impressive looking first XI

I agree to a point but if everyone chips in with 10 plus goals someone like Rhead would be perfect.

I think we'll all have to get over this fantasy of signing Cook.

1- Tranmere don't have many forwards

2- They lost Stockton

3- He would require a fee

4- They wouldn't sell to us

5- He'd be on a hefty wage

Keates reckons he's of that calibre, Mangan in past days, yes, Cook deffo could be as is Rhead. One of these I would say is the one.

I'll be honest, if Dean gets the strikers right, we honestly are looking at being contenders, and when you add Darlington's coaching expertise into the frame, it makes you wonder if we might be challenging for top spot.

"A striker who trained with Wrexham last term will be spending time on trial with the Reds in pre-season so Keates can run the rule over him.

“We have got a trialist coming in next week,” said Keates. “He is a forward and somebody that we had in last season.

“He came in for a week and did well but we couldn’t get clearance for him to play in any friendlies so he only trained with us."
