The fact Darlington is here is with him is such a massive, massive thing though. If the players buy into his methods then we are going to have a great season.

Best signing Keates has made in Darlington , When you have a Proper Coach Coaching Proper players at a Proper Club , then it gets seriously PROPER

The quality of the decisions and recruitment made by him so far, as a rookie, really does show up Mills even worse.

His recruitment seems fine, along with his professionalism and attitude etc.

Still a bit to prove along the lines of in-game management for me (tactics, substitutions etc) but still relatively early days and hopefully Darlington will be a big help with that side of it

Agreed. Get the coaching right and everything should fall into place.

Cannot wait for this season to start!

Totally agree he will need two full seasons to assemble squad capable of pushing for promotion.

Did Lincoln need two full seasons to assemble a promotion winning squad last season?

Default Re: Keates

on paper, he has done really well

but let's not get carried away before we they have even kicked a ball as a team together.. some people are acting as if we have been promoted already.

and no I'm not putting a dampener on warranted enthusiasm... it isnt going to be easy and there is a long hard season ahead of the squad.. of which due to keates wanting a small squad.. 2 or 3 injuries/suspensions are key times may screw us up.
