Big fan of his myself.
Not because I think he is world class but because he is solid, always shows up, I believe he has a good footballing brain which helps with his lack of pace. But mostly because I've never once heard him moan, be unprofessional or let the club down.

Still think he plays within himself a bit too much and could have much more impact, particularly as a midfielder, given he's fundamentally a good footballer. Does a job but want more from him.

However trying to big up a bang average at best player who often goes missing in games (usually when the going gets tough) and lets be brutally honest here isn't good enough to make a promotion winning 1st team is entirely up to them.
If we had a team full of Carringtons we'd seldom make it out of our own half because his passing is always the safe bet backwards or sideways. He does NOTHING to aid our attacks and its been a flaw for years now.

After the games he's played for us I'd expect the penny to have dropped by now.

I have always had great respect for Carrington always the first to sign and he always gives his all he would always be in my starting eleven top bloke.

Solid pro, very reliable, tidy with possession rarely gives the ball away. Not that quick but is a master of the art of blocking the run of players as they try to run past him. He can do a job in a number of positions even left back. Good squad player.

Not trying to big up a player at all. Carrington may not be high quality but he does the best he can when playing in the past with players that should never have graced the racecourse turf. In the time he has been with us I believe he has only had 1 major injury causing him to miss a few games. No fan owned team can have 15 Ronaldo's in it. Every team requires players who will turn out
Match after match which he does. Ray Wilkins made a career out of safe passing as did many others. Everyone has their favs etc I could never understand how Robbie Evans got a game yet some loved him. All I am saying is Carrington has been here for 5 years and in this day and age in our Mickey Mouse league it is rare.
