We're taking an automated feed for the fixtures and staTs which will appearas soon as the fixtures are released. Similarly with the players once registrations have all been submitted.

Only looked using Safari on an iPad so far but three initial suggestions.

1 - looks a bit clunky on the home page where the league table doesn't align with the rest of the page on the right margin. Ditto with 2 different image sizes below the main one. Differently sized images is an issue which happens on a number of pages. Spoils the otherwise clean look and makes it a tad harder to read for some.

2 - Strikes me the menu needs a little rethink. I'd move tickets and fanzone above commercial and probably above club too. Long term I'd simplify the categories further.

3 - I know this won't be top of the list but there's a number of inconsistencies to be worked at e.g. the menu refers to disabled "fans" and "supporters ".

Hi Mike,

All points noted. We currently don't have full access to the system, there are still background functions we have developers working on. The site will be tested on all platforms at the final release point.

I must be in a minority as I am not keen and find the new website (especially on the iPad) very blocky. It feels like a drag and drop platform, very similar to a number of the free online templates. Which is understandable as these templates make maintenance easier and quicker. I appreciate that this has been revamped; is an early incarnation but there is lots of 'white space'. Possibly due to the limits of the platform. I am also surprised to see no staff information,nothing about either the playing or coaching staff. Although there is information about the directors.
However, as I said and am in the minority, as long as it works for the majority and provides the information required it is doing as required. Not a moan just my opinion.

Why do people visit the site ? one of the main factors will be match and ticket information.

The next match is NOT Macclesfield - it may be the next league fixture but why can we not have a list of pre season friendlies up in lights - those PR addicts and people close to the club will be aware of the friendlies but the casual fan who turns to the official site for fixture information will find nothing and move on.

If the first team are playing then surely all fixtures should be 'on show' and some basic information relating to our match tomorrow at Stafford Rangers and Tuesday's fixture at Warrington Town.

The time line and history is all well and good but I feel as priority we need to focus on the 'next match' which is far more important and what the fanbase need rather than when tape was used for a crossbar someway back in the 1870's - don't get me wrong I love the club history but lets get the fixtures / player profiles etc up in lights - preferably first.

Thanks for your feedback. The white spaces are due to unused advertising space - this will be filled in the coming weeks. This is obviously going to be essential.

We are working on adding the player and staff profiles too, but we have to wait for certain data to be fed into the CMS by the Press Association. As it's a new platform, this process is still underway. We have everything in place for when they feed it in.

It's not a free online template (the chance would be a fine thing) - but like I said a few months ago when I was questioned on here about the new website - it was always going to be a work in progress and take time for us to perfect it. In the coming months we expect to have it in better shape - once we fill the additional spaces and extra information, I'm sure it's current BETA format will kind of make some sense.
