To be fair Gray was a lot closer ability wise to Moult then Bishop was. I mean Bishop FFS.

I still haven't got over this as you can see.
At the Open Day ahead of that season, I was in the group being taken around, and we stopped off in the Directors Lounge for a talk from Spencer Harris.

An inquisitive fan (not me) asked Spencer why we sold Louis Moult and he said that it was Mills decision to sell him (not the clubs, as we didn't need the money).

Spencer also said the board backed the manager fully and he clearly stated that Mills believed his replacement (James Gray) was a better player.

This is not fiction, as I heard this myself.

This suggests it was Moults decision. Not doubting what you are saying mind..

I think he would have left anyway, with or without any influence from Mills.

I dont blame him though obviously.

If I were Moult I wouldn't be signing an extension for little more money when there are loads of much bigger clubs hiding in the shadows waiting to pounce. Shame for us really as guess we get less if he's sold on the cheap due to only having less than 12 months left on his contract or worse moves on out of contract! If he was out of contract would we get anything (know it sounds stupid but would there have been a clause put in for this?)??

The question was whether Wilkin really signed him though.

Be nice to see Moult move to Derby for a couple of Mill£££££

If he's out of contract, no contract exists - can't have a clause in something that doesn't exist..

Tbh Motherwell are skint, like most Scottish clubs outside the top 4, and will probably take what they can get for him. Probably £500k seems reasonable, but lets hope Rangers decide to go crazy again and spend a few million

No contract between player and Motherwell perhaps but surely there must have been a contractual agreement between Motherwell and Wrexham from the original transfer??
