I thought Holroyd had a very good game.

The couple of snapshots he had from range were dreadful but I think that was a case of trying too hard. Overall though you can see why Keates is willing to consider him. He's quick, strong and looks a threat from close range. He's also not afraid to drop deep and some of his lay offs were very good.

To me he looked like the sort of neat and tidy player that we have seen too much of in recent years.

Deary me. Give he lad a bloody break. He's played 45 minutes. I personally thought overall his hold up play was decent. Yes he snatched at a few but he's trying to impress and probably to hard.

4 lads ideas with all said the same. Got something to offer, defiantly worth another look.

Im just going on what I saw but I think he was nervous and tried a little bit too much. He's got something though, not sure what mind.

Unlucky not to score, good movement and can hold the ball up. Best of our forwards tonight I think, looking forward to seeing him play more.

I think if he would have played the first half rather than the second he would've scored a few

To me looked like he twinged something mid way through the half. Kept holding the back of his thigh but played on and put in a half decent performance, certainly not the worst performance out there and id say on a par with holdroyd. Hit the post and looks like he needs sharpening up, but isn't that what pre season is for??

He came on for the second 45 minutes and within a short time tried a shot which was heavily blocked - after that he looked out of sorts and wasn't walking properly - still looked lively, hit the post and had a couple of attempts that he was unlucky with.
At the moment, on tonight's showing we will be ok with the keeper the defence and midfield but need some proper firepower up top if we are to do well - early days though, hopefully players will improve when they get a few games under their belts.
