I'm sure he'd rather the money be used on the squad than on a statue that makes him cringe every time he goes to the ground

Surely you can appreciate people's sentiment here though? For such an honourable and revered gentleman - or do you not share the majority's view?
Personally, anyone who doesn't like Joey or recognise the significant contribution he's done on and off the pitch here I'd find it to be simply astonishing.

This nails it for me though. Joey himself would want the £ to go towards a push for promotion. He loves this club as much as any of us and that would be his fitting reward.
