And is it not a good thing that the FAW have plans to make good use of a facility which has been allowed to deteriorate so far from its former glory?
I was wondering this myself. It wasn't stolen from the club at all.

So does this mean we've got even less chance of getting Colliers back in the future?

the club didn't get the proceeds from its sale. Who got the £1.8m glyndwr paid?

Obviously this is not literally stolen, but I understand why fans feel this way.

Meh, when have the FAW ever cared about us?

I am pretty sure if we were ever to become as successful as Swansea are right now, the FAW would laud us as their pride and glory... but when is that ever going to happen.

All stems from the 2008 decision to split the Club from the assets , allowing the Racecourse to be developed via the flats. Backed wholeheartedly by the WST board and endorsed by the members. A bad move all round but those of us who voted against it were defeated. We can't , unfortunately , re-write history.

I'm surprised that you need me to explain my thinking.

We owned Colliers and The Racecourse. Moss and Roberts then hived them off into a separate company and sold them to a third party. They also separated the car park at the racecourse and the land behind the Kop where the flats now stand from the other assets and kept these for themselves. They then exited the club, which was left with no assets and major debts, with Moss and Roberts having backtracked on their commitment that all proceeds from the flats would benefit the club.

I would call that stealing, or asset stripping if you like. You seemingly don't agree?

For the Welsh FA to now take over Colliers, knowing as they must do the background to how it was taken from us, is to my mind quite appalling.

Glad it will be kept open but there won't be anything in it for us. Our new training ground is good enough for this level

You summarise the events very well. It was a terrible move.
I presume you were a WST member at the time of the 2008 AGM? Did you endorse the move splitting the Club from its assets as recommended by the WST board?

Isn't that a bit disingenuous?

I was against the assets being split from the club, but those who were in favour were told that all the proceeds from the proposed development would benefit the club, and that we'd also benefit from a new Kop stand.

Shouldn't you be blaming Moss and Roberts, rather than genuine fans who were lied to by them?
