Welsh FA to take over Colliers park
Sorry if it has already been posted but it was announced tonight at the NEWFA AGM that the FAW are looking at leasing Colliers park of the university and invest £5,000,000 in 2 new pitches one to be used exclusively for the international teams new 3G and new changing / office complex. To create a north wales development centre

Didn't sound that way, they have dragons park in Newport don't think they get to train there

Newport County didn't pay for Dragon Park and we did for Colliers. But then that is only a factor in a world where what is fair matters, i.e. not the one we live in. There's basically no chance of any external bodies being anything but a hindrance to the club so the club is making the best it can without any assistance. I am surprised if The Welsh FA are going to throw good money at Colliers Park as it is well run down and not the best of ground bases for pitches. The seem to be prepared to pay rent on a lease and invest in Glyndwrs property.
It would be wise to identify a more suitable freehold area of land and develop that. Strange decision based on the fact that a run down site exists. |
