I know. I was replying as your post suggested you believed such a deal was in place.

I think this is why most fee's an undisclosed. As there are many little intricacies and possible add on's.

For appearances, goals, international caps and goals, European qualification, cup wins. Organising a friendly for the following pre season.

The selling club could add a buyout option, like Real Madrid and Barcelona have done for many of their youth players (Morata and Deulofeu).

Then there is the sell of fee. Is it % of the overall value. Or is a % of the profit made on top of the original fee (Which was the case for us with Neil Taylor)

Fee's can be broken up into lump upfront sums, or paid in installments. So is the sell on then paid little by little when the installments are paid?

These days transfers are seldom simple, especially when involved in multi million £££ deals.

Things are complicated even more with International transfers. As I'm not sure of the exact workings. But when a player moves abroad, all the junior clubs that the player was registered for are entitled to a percentage (1% something like that. not sure how its calculated.) For example when Fraser Forster moved from Celtic to Southampton, his junior clubs 'Wallsend boys club' got some money

Edit: The Fraser Forster thing is explained here.

If Aberdeen buy him for a fee plus add ons and they sell him at a profit, then we would be entitled to a share of the added income Motherwell receive

Slightly off topic, I was just wandering how much of the Neil Taylor transfer money we have received from Aston Villa? Also what are the terms of the instalments.

Bidding has started on LM. Aberdeen have had a 250K bid rejected according to the BBC.

£250k that's a joke for a player that has scored 18 goals in each of last 2 seasons.

In todays prices anything less than £1m is ridiculous although Motherwell are skint so maybe we could realistically expect £400k and get £100k ourselves.
