Obeng has retired

Curtis Obeng has retired from football at 28, I don't know what happened to the lad, he must have really lost confidence or be crocked.

What a waste. Big shame.

Can't believe he hasn't progressed. He was a joy to watch down the wing in his last season for us.

Perhaps he fell out of love with football - some do.
Can't help feeling he will live to regret it in a couple of decades - had the ability to have done a lot better, perhaps the application and desire, for whatever reason just wasn't there.

As I've said on another thread I thought his speed made him look a lot better than he was. If he has lost that then he is extremely average. Never thought he could even strike a ball properly. More of a sprinter with average footballing ability

Like Mark Jones, probably didn't have the desire and mental toughness to make it at the top.

Big time Charlie, far too interesting in posing with a new car every week. Could of been a different story if he stayed, can't blame him for taking the chance but prob a case of too much too soon and being stuck in a non competitive under 21 team you're going to lose motivation.

Similar story at Newport, where he had a successful loan spell in 2014.

He insisted on returning to Swansea to "further his career" and we all saw how that went.

Can't blame him for leaving us. But obviously lacked the desire to rebuild his career after realizing he wasn't going to get in the team at Swansea. Shame as he was a good player
