Good news. I think we'll sign another striker before the season starts. Keates can then look to add to the squad during the season as required, as both Cheltenham and Lincoln did successfully.

I am feeling very optimistic about our chances, I have to say.

We are restricted to the transfer window though. Aren't we?

Good signing but I wish it was a signing and not a short term loan. Very disappointed with the nature of the deal unless the wages saved means we can get a decent striker "in the building"

This was obviously boxed off on Saturday.

Here is Akil being interviewed post match on Stafford's pitch about his 6 month loan period.

That's true, although we can still loan players, either temporarily or with a view to a permanent move at the next transfer window (i.e. January), as York did with Newton and Guiseley did with Rooney.

It is unfair that we can't operate in the same was as every other club in our league. That's something that needs fixing.

I'd imagine Fleetwood have no intention of selling him. Surely it's a win for them (experience for the player) and a win for us (we have a player we would not have otherwise).

Don't all loan signings have a callback option as 'standard'?

I'm really pleased with this.

As others have said, it would have been good to get him as a season long loan or even as a permanent signing, but if a short loan to January is all that's on offer it looks like DK is happy to take it.

I'm looking forward to seeing him in action tomorrow evening against Warrington Town.

COYR!!!

Seems a very sensible, young man with lots of ambition. I am sure both he and the club will want a more permanent deal asap.

No pressure, but my candidate for PotS already. Welcome aboard.
