Keates wasn't really the sort to drive forward. Normally just controlled pace and tempo. Harris was more likely to close down, break up play and take the ball forward

It was..and would have saved a lot of money, and the club being taken backwards.... But football's a risky business whatever you do.....

While I'm happy we've signed Wright after some decent pre season performances, loan signings do underwhelm me somewhat; particularly from a club like Fleetwood. I have no axe to grind with the club but if he has a good 6 months with us there's every chance he'll a) go back to his parent club; or b) sold or picked up by a League club or, dare I say it, picked up by another Conference club with deeper pockets. .

What's the answer? Signing him on loan because we can ill afford transfer fees. If he does show significant promise with us, perhaps the funds could be found.

It's not a moan. I'm happy that we've signed another good player

Maybe Fleetwood didn't want to sell him.

Given the relative positions of the clubs, both in League status and financially it is interesting to note the number of Cod Army fans in Austria compared to Wrexham fans in Portugal.

I can't see them selling him 6 months after offering him a new deal. I would've thought its for 6 months as that gives them the option of loaning him elsewhere if he's not getting enough games to aid his development.

Why has he seemingly been on a trial for loan with us? Didn't he travel out to Portugal without formally being on loan with us? Was he one of the trialists?

I thought most trialists were unattached!

Making sure he was right for us I suppose. Good move in my opinion.
