Continuing the negative theme (sorry). I am now really troubled by the strong indication we are going to play 4-4-2. The formation has not worked for us in the conference and our best period in the Conference was playing 4-3-3. On bad pitches, and playing combative teams we may end of with effectively 4-2-2 with two wingers watching the battle.

I am strongly against 4-4-2, I thought Keates and Darlington would avoid it but even if it is the decided formation why aren't we practising a plan B?

The two up front is a bit concerning as well. Can we see Holroyd and Boden holding the ball up and getting their head to crosses?

I do agree with this ! 433 would get the best out of our most creative player Kelly!

This is a potential fund raiser if we could get sponsors to pay £10 for every use of these words we would be quids in!

Look on the bright side.. irrespective of the opposition we have still managed to win 5 on the trot in spite of conceding a goal in each of those matches.. a possible first time?

Not at all - last season we won all our pre season friendlies including a behind closed doors victory v Bury - you can only beat what's put in front of you but so far we have controlled games against lowly opposition without really being threatened. They are fitness workouts under game time conditions in preparation for the real thing - at least the manager gets the chance to formulate his starting eleven for the 5th August. It's nice to win but in all honesty we should be putting these teams to bed shouldn't we ? My concern is we are not doing it more emphatically and scoring more goals in the process.
