K Roberts signs 2 year deal

I liked these little digs in the official announcement :

"Roberts, a right-back by trade who can play further up the field started off his career with the old Chester City in their youth set-up."

" His contract was terminated after the demise of the club in February 2010"

We have had false dawns in the past and been bitterly disappointed I just hope and pray this is not another false dawn.And the town is once again represented in the football league were it rightly belongs.

All we can do at this stage is have faith in DK's recruitment and the coaching that follows which must in itself be an attraction. Hopefully a "big" centre forward to come next.

The difference this season apart from dean being a better judge than mills.Is that Dean has spent his money on 18 players instead of 24 plus addition football fortune has favoured him in that he has had extra monies because of taylor.jorden davies tilt and rooney plus £60k from btb. And remember we are now back in a position to push for the play offs after 5 years of mis managment and the worse football in our history

Thats an important point. If the budget is a lot higher this year because of Taylor and that has been spent then that is not a sustainable model. However if only the money for the concerts, say, has been spent with the taylor money in the bank, and the key financial difference is the 18 players, then that paints a far better picture.

You say football fortune has favoured Keates, but credit where it is due. In the cases of Tilt and Rooney he let them go once we were safe to free up their wages for this years budget, and got a small fee for them into the bargain. That's good management, not fortune.
