Default Re: Life long Wrexham passes away

Most Wrexham fans owe their allegiance to the club to their Dad's who took them to their first games and introduced them to the club and passed on the "lifelong burden" of following the club through thick and thin.

Some have had more time going to games than others my favourite at the Racecourse with my Dad was the 4 1 demolition of England because when you become a teenager you go in different areas of the ground and we had tickets together in the stand for that one.

My Dad passed away in 1977 but I have passed the tradition onto my sons.

RIP to all departed fans.

Saw my first game with my dad in the mid 50s, Lost 3-1 to York, Bannon scored. We spent many a post match discussions after that. He passed away in 1974, still miss those discussions on how to put things right all these years later.

So sorry for your loss.

[QUOTE=WrexSi;2052451]Sorry for all those who have lost a dad who posted on this thread.

Lost mine 18 months ago, i renewed his season ticket seat in both of the last two years (in the months of May) it helps the club, and its a little nod to him.

All the best guys

My first game was circa 64. Torquay I think was game and 0-0 score. Keelan in goal. Next game I went to was 1967 ish. Southend, they were near top and we beat them 2-0. That year we drew something like 21 games, finished about 7th and went on from there. Early 70's crowds were sparse but John Neal in 1973 started the revolution. A 3-0 win against Rotherham was for me a turning point. May this year be a similar turning point. I love this club and my old man would be proud!

He took me to my first game in 1969 (Port Vale I think)and fell in love with the club as much as he did (and the lager club!!!!!).

Funeral is at the All Saints Church, Poyser St, Wrexham on Thursday 27 July at 2pm.

RIP Dad, CMON THE TOWN !!!!!

Sorry for your loss staffordred - sad to see another red pass away.....
