Re: So what would your starting line up be?
He was fine at right back. My point was that limited resources shouldn't be wasted on paying a fee for yet another right back. We have bigger issues up front, at centre half where we only have 2, and possibly in midfield where there seems to be a lack of creativity.

Re: So what would your starting line up be?
The keeper and back four select themselves so the only real debate is about midfield and up top. It looks most likely we'll play 442 so that will mean Kelly and MacKreth will slot in on the left and right respectively. Wedgbury would be my first pick in the middle and I'd play him alongside Carrington in the defensive role. I think Wright is unlucky to miss out but Carrington is the safer bet while the side beds in. Boden will be the main man up front and from what I've seen he's linked up well with Massanka so I would start him ahead of Holroyd.
So the team I would pick and expect to see line up against Macc is this. ..............CD.............. KR....SP........MS.....JJ ............MC............... JMcK..........SW.......MK ...........NM....SB.........

Re: So what would your starting line up be?
Explanation first:
We've got to play Kelly in the middle. We've got to play 4-3-3, and for the role I want him to play Carrington is a better option than Wedgbury Dunn Roberts Smith Pearson Jennings Wright Carrington (Both holding, both timing late runs) Kelly Holroyd Massanka Boden (Think Mangan-Pogba-Morrell) |

We also now have 2 wing-backs (Roberts and Jennings), so could play 3-5-2; but that then causes the issue of how to play MacKreth. We do need a target-man to bolster our strike force. I think Toure is promising but, like Massanka last season, is not yet ready to start. Finally, DK should use these final 2 friendlies to start his preferred starting XI to develop the team ahead of the Macclesfield game. Yesterday's defeat was frustrating but ultimately meaningless; it was, however, proof that we still need someone creative in midfield and someone who can hold the ball up up front.

I agree with those saying that 433 is the way to go. Signing Vose would give us good options for this too

Dunn
Roberts. M Smith. Pearson. Jennings. Macreth. Wright. Wedgebury. Kelly. Holroyd. Boden. Not much in decision for Wright v Carrington and Holroyd v Massanka. I'd still like to see us try 4-3-3 with either Macreth or Massanka added up top. This is mainly to allow Kelly more opportunity to get on the ball. Ideally though we'd have a proper target man in the side to take the rough stuff allowing Boden to find the space. I think he is our 20 goal man if we can get in the right partner/foil.
