Christ, Marx is 18 and already being written off. He's not up to standard yet but being around the likes of Pearson and Manny should do him a world of good. He was thrown in at the deep end last season and did ok. Hopefully he won't be needed that much but can develop his game around them first team.

Although Marx looked quality at the end of last season, I think you might be right about him not being ready just yet.

Not sure Marx got much of a call from Manny in the shambles before the goal. Pearson will be a great help for him.

Why are the pair of them caught running back towards their own goal? I've no idea how they can get themselves into that situation. Marx is running back looking straight at his own keeper, I can't understand it as it is a bizarre thing to see.

I have seen enough of Pearson from day one at Lex to know that he doesn't stop talking and marshalling a defence - he's a fantastic pro and any young player alongside him can only learn from him - a rock that we can build the foundations of a team around - Manny needs to learn from him and start using his mouth more - it comes to some far easier than it does to others but I feel it's a weakness in his game and could haunt us if Pearson is missing from the team for any reason - perhaps DK is one step ahead in the 'what if' scenario - the acquisition of the Captain of Halifax in Kevin Roberts is another mini masterstroke - the potential to move him over to centre half is another string to the bow - if we need to.

Marx' defending isn't bad, it's just his distribution which is bad.

Some of my fave commentary for a while there: "and that's way over the bar and the...uh, hedge...behind the goal."

Bad defending by Marx for the mistake and Manny for not closing down. Jimmy seems to be able to do everything but score.

Disagree, they were both at fault. Marx did have enough time to adjust his feet and be more assured and composed.
