No members of the public out shopping to get caught up in running battles?

Some fans have got what they wanted, let's await the outcome and if the hooligan element want to spoil it for the great majority of fans who just want to support their team, then let's hope they're dealt with appropriately.

I can only think it's less disruption for business in and around Sealand Road. Surely they won't make pubs close on Friday evening as that's worth thousands to them.

Diabolical decision - some people have short memories.
There is a minority at each club who simply can't be trusted 'one inch'.
Making a statement saying basically all is well and rosy in the garden as we have had peace and goodwill to all men for the last four seasons is only due to the restrictions put in place.

This day and kick off time has been generated by one factor - it's Remembrance weekend - so the powers that be don't have the opportunity to displace the fixture to 'a stand alone' on Sunday.

Saturday is conflict with the world of shopping and attempting to get several hundred Wrexham supporters across the city (over 2 miles) from the railway station to the stadium and back and in doing so avoiding a mass kick off.

So we are stuck with one remaining option - Friday night and in the dark. Seems we have gone from one far too cautious extreme to the total opposite pole and in doing so given the louts the best chance to ruin it.

Should have put it on Saturday with a 1200 noon at best OR for the next year a reminder to the National League fixture official.

Please can we play Chester / Wrexham on a Saturday (avoiding bank holidays and Remembrance weekend) thereby allowing either club to displace the fixture to Sunday if required to prevent avoidable costings and potential serious disorder.

To simple.

At last. I'll be there this season. It'll be my first visit there since they let their club die.

Be back to a bubble following year - assuming we're in the same league

Before the game will be interesting, but it looks like the only train back to Wrexham is the 22:28 which is just about walkable, but no time to stop for a pint, so if buses back to the station are laid on I imagine most will use them. It can't be beyond the wit of the police to segregate parking so Wxm fans park further along bumpers lane, on the bubble bus route, and Chester fans have the other way back towards Tesco.

If the policing is properly thought out, and fans are kept informed there really is no need for fans just looking to attend the game being significantly inconvenienced, and the buses will still run, but they will be optional rather than compulsory.

As 1984 has highlighted, the police will have a fair shift starting before noon and continuing for best part of 12 hours, which would not have been the case with a 3pm sat. KO.
