I must say I'm enjoying all the output from the media team this season, especially considering I'm an exile in Yorkshire.

My weekend always starts with the Dragonheart podcast.

Fair play, you've certainly clocked up the miles covering all those games. Think Torquay analysis was harsh, didn't think they were better side for majority of the afternoon, and we did create, just couldnt capitalise. I note you guys also fit in the camp of Darlington is the influence behind the scenes, are you not forgetting Andrew Davies is the full time assistant .
Thought it un-just criticism of fans saying we forget there is another team on the pitch

But that's opinions for you.

Hi Flip Flop, I have to admit that Darlington does get a lot of credit, but i personally said on last weeks or the Week before's show, that it is most definitely a backroom team effort.

Having read social media since the start of the season, most people are talking (like you say) that is's Keates and Darlington, where I have pointed out it's Andy Davies who is the Assistant manager (and a good job he's doing too) and also Michael Oakes is also back as goalkeeper coach
Darlo has made a difference, but as i said it's a team effort

Good news.
It will take time but the club can only go forward if big improvements are brought to the whole coaching set up from the first team, youth teams right through to community coaching. When the first team have had success in the past we have always had key players who were former youth team players, so we need to get back to a constant trickle of quality players coming through. Leo Smith & Ollie Marx have shown real potential but it is a long time since any of our kids have slotted straight in as first teamers.

Crewe Alex showed what can be achieved if there is the vision to get the youth side right with their Soccer Centre/Coaching in schools and Academy. They have a constant supply to their first team and scores of players who have moved to PL & Championship clubs, some for ridiculous fees. Their youth team compete in a league with PL clubs and until recently punched above their weight signing the best kids. Flynnie & Cliff Sear had that vision, but we fell short in a number of areas.

The rules have changed favouring the bigger clubs all driven by the PL but, hopefully, we will get some managerial stability and Dean, Carl and Andy can lead the club back down that route.
