I'm going to bite and suggest that whatever has inspired this kind of language it almost certainly isn't a list of names of notable former players and managers. I'm not sure it's consistent with your view on another active thread that we need to stop the us and them mentality (which is true). There are always things to resolve in any club or business and I'd suggest that of the things that raise temperatures this is going to be well down the list, and if you want resolution rather than conflict then you're going about it in entirely the wrong way.

You are partly right. As someone who jointly (with Mark Griffiths) suggested the Hall of Fame and is now involved with the FPA , I have a vested interest. We had to try to explain to Bobby Shinton why his photo was not on display in Bamfords. Should I now have to avoid those whose names are wrongly omitted from the website list for fear of mutual embarrassment? Should I have just shut up and allowed the (avoidable ) errors to remain for fear of being classified with Bryn and others as a miserable critic?

Not having a go, but why would Bobby Shinton's photo be omitted?

Is it not perhaps the case that it's a work in progress? Not great if mistakes have been made, but the inference that it's some sort of deliberate rewrite of history seems without basis.

We are asked to give quite a bit of understanding due to a large part of the admin/media side is on a voluntary basis, which is fine, but I believe that hinders the operation becoming more and more professional, because mistakes are seen as an acceptable consequence of voluntary contributions.
If it's a choice of the media teams time then personally I'd rather have highlights of pre season friendlies than a factually correct Hall Of Fame on the website

Fair enough but it surely wouldn't take them too long to resolve the discrepancies, provided they are aware, of course.

I personally agree with WAFC1926 and think this should be accurate.

What you should do is tell the people who can do something about it and then if it isn't resolved feel free to rail against it - proportionately against the damage done. For your instant reaction to talk of a whitewashing of history on here and sheer incompetence not only raises the issue way above where it stands in the grand scheme of things but also is as likely to prevent progress as drive it. If I'm the person who can change this error my initial reaction to your tone is as likely to be flip you as how can I help you. There's a middle ground between shutting up and butting heads.

That was a genuine error which was happily resolved. Embarrassed for Bobby though.

So why not contact the club and/or media team directly rather than make a song and dance about it on here?

Isn't it just a case of correcting the errors?
