I'm most definitely not trying to knock Marx, like you say the lad is 18, I also agree that all defenders make mistakes but in the handful of games is wen him he's made a fair few. Like the one at Nantwich. He should sometimes just put it in row Z. But he's a young lad and he will learn from these mistakes and they will hopefully make him a better player. Having said all that I would be a little worried if anything were to happen to pearson and smith and we went with him majority of the season.

Many on here clearly despise Newton for leaving for York even though he was forced out (Mills was told he must sell his captain before further recruiting) and always worked hard in games for us. That first season he worked his socks off winning every second ball.

Behave will you, my main gripe with the last 4/5 years has been the lack of second balls won, newton is no exception and is a complete bottle job

I actually liked Newton in the first season and defended him when others said he was too slow etc. Second season he looked unfit and a bit limited but I gave him the benefit of the doubt....... Until that last appearance. I'll forgive most things in a player but not standing on the pitch refusing to get involved, especially when you're the captain and should be leading by example.
Anyway it's water under the bridge. Time to let it go. Apologies for looking back when we should be looking forward.

Always fascinated me where this "Mills was told to sell his captain" rumour comes from...

Forced out is a stretch considering everything... But its all last season's issue now so it doesn't matter

I always like Newton, did a great job especially on the attacking end when he was always a threat. Did really well in the Jennings Vose triangle early in the 15-16 season which was the last time we played well as a team.

Never understood the hate.

I'm happy with Jennings though, even though he hasn't quite got the same attacking attributes, he's probably stronger defensively.

Marx should concentrate on playing more like Shaun Pearson than John Stones and he'll be fine
