It's the first game... With a new squad. Last season on here people were on about patience with Mills and his bargain bin squad. Now it's Keates with better signings people seem to want perfection day one.

Macc did ok with their entirely new squad! It wasn't all bad by any means but we didn't look like scoring and if we want to really challenge we need to be winning these games.

It is the first game. However we are expecting a promotion challenge, therefore.losing will not help that promotion challenge and any time we lose that challenge takes a dent. Moreover the context, is that we we were ineffectual and slipped to defeat against a team not expected to challenge. Had we opened against Tranmere, say, and lost 3-2 in a classic, there would be more positives.

There were positives from today's game. And I can't reiterate enough to that it's only the first game. Patience is needed. We obviously need to win and if we continue like this then yes we are in trouble. But it's only the first game. Give it some time before judging too harshly.

Kelly needs to be central.
