Macclesfield signed a new squad through the summer and loaned a right back from port vale yesterday.They outplayed us and could have won 3 nil. We have sunk to be a lower table non league team over the last 5 years today has shown we need a few players before we will pushing higher up the table

And how do we go about signing these better players? Where do we generate the money?

Macclesfield didn't outplay us. They had one pop shot that Dunn made a mistake on because of the swerve. People are overreacting. We have some good players and there's potential. Again, I'm not saying we played well, but we shown that we can in the future at times. That's all I was looking for in that game.

New season same shit. No creativity zero up front. Without a decent playmaker and a forward who knows when to put his foot behind it, we have no chance of challenging. First game or not, we were woeful.

This has been the problem I've been saying, whilst Keates has assembled a good squad, he is still a rookie and I'm sceptical as to whether he can make the "in game" decisions to get us where we want to be.

I said it last season and say it again this, our pre-season fixtures are not challenging enough. We looked totally off the pace and ill prepared yet again.

Totally agree been saying this myself its OK playing teams 2 levels below you and looking good but you need to be testing yourself pre season

I fully understand your philosophical view after just one game.

Its the 'what do people expect?' I find odd. As if there were unique mitigating circumstances. Which there weren't.

It wasn't good, annoyed we lost, some bright spots, we have 45 games left so it's neither armageddon nor some kind of glorious unlucky defeat.

They played better than us overall but we had good spells, especially in the second half.

They could have won 3 nil? I must have been watching a different game. They only won due to a goal keeping error!
