My Macc highlight was my son's version of the game.
His young daughter had been asking if he could take her to her first football match. Living in Birmingham, he did not want her first ever live match to be Aston Villa or Birmingham. So on Saturday morning he decided to take his two daughters to Wrexham to see them play against Maccesfield.
He left in plenty of time, but there were was a major delay on the M6 and he was stuck in a queue for 45 minutes. He thought of turning around, but knew his daughter would have been disappointed, and the Sat-Nav said his arrival time would be 14.50. He decided to carry on and made good time to Wrexham and parked in Rhosddu, not knowing the underpass to Crispen Lane was shut. This delay caused him to arrive at the ground at 15.15. He asked the the turnstile operator the score and he said it was 0-0. He then went in the GUS stand (the only one were you can't see the scoreboard). At half time he checked the scores on Sky on his phone and it was still showing 0-0, but the battery on his phone died. At the end of the game he got in his car and drove all the way home.
At home his wife asked him how the girls enjoyed the day. He said they enjoyed it, but it was a goal-less draw. She replied "No it wasn't. They LOST 1-0"
He said it was half-past eight on Saturday when he realised they had actually lost
