Re: Jones bar
I worked at several grounds in London during uni, and every one had me pouring loads of beers in preparation for the half time rush. There would be no queue by the end of half time.
Obviously those in charge of the staff at the Racecourse know better than those Premier League clubs... I'd also add some barriers at Jonesy's bar to ensure a 1 queue system. There were people coming in from all angles. |

I even took to emailing the club about this issue. It's nice to know that my suggestion got completely ignored. I won't bother parting with my money within the ground for the next game if they don't get this right. It's just not worth the hassle. |

Re: Jones bar
I left the first half a couple of mins early to queue for a beer, by 3:58 I was still in the queue so sacked it off. They should do pre-paid tokens and have the beer already poured. Took my lad to Man City last season- they do it and it works a treat. Need to sort if quick - it's easy profit.

Re: Jones bar
In the MRS last season I went down to the bar a few minutes before half time to escape the match. There were quite a few people waiting and we were told they weren't allowed to even pre-pour or take tops of bottles until a steward gave them a signal the ref had blown for half time.

Re: Jones bar
These are more bye products of anything out of the 'norm'.
We just aren't geared up for it - I was delayed getting in yesterday - bar code on season ticket - hanging about until sorted - big que's at food kiosk. The anticipated larger than normal first day of the season crowd was banded about all week but I get the impression we are one pace - same number of staff selling food from the same small kiosk - my usual £10 spend was still in my pocket and got wasted at the Gwersyllt fish bar post match. As for Jones bar - I suppose it's marginally better than nothing but god knows why anyone would want to drink there through choice. People need to be organised - under most stands there is a system / barriers channelling people into orderly ques where you can clearly define the start and the end which don't cross paths with the bogs. |

Re: Jones bar
Location wise Jones bar should do well. However it should be about 10-15 feet further back and have a queuing system. Maybe use some barriers from the kop.
There is also a big unused space on the right of it that could be used for a 2nd queue. I dont think anyone has an idea how to set up the area. I dont ever buy any food/drink at the ground because its so poor. Posted via mobile theme Last edited by pagl; 7th August 2017 at 05.08:59.. |
