Thanks for that penetrating insight. I quite like Tumb personally, but I appreciate I'm in a minority.

Well in truth, Radio Wales had the budget to install ISDN points, so it wasn't an issue at grounds without ISDN. So long as there was a BT phone line, all ok. In our football league days, all grounds had ISDN, usually paid for and maintained by the local BBC stations. A reciprocal agreement. Sometimes the club pays for it but that's rare.

The delay people refer to last night was down to their own online feed and local connection. For example, I heard our second goal about 20sec after other RP members had already posted it.

Satellites can be used, but usually only for the bigger games, when Radio Wales will share the Sat Truck with BBC Wales TV or S4C etc, but very rare!

The breakdown in transmission merely added to the tension (as if we need more stress?!).

Overall the commentary was excellent and much improved on BBC Wales. For once I had the feeling I knew what was going on and when there were real opportunities (and threats).

Hats off to Calon FM - keep up the good work

So you got about 33 mins commentary then? How is that better than 90 mins bbc radio wales commentary! Until Calon sort out the transmission issues they are a non starter.

Sorry but the broadcast itself was poor from Calon FM. Which is a shame as the bits I did listen to I really enjoyed. I will happily listen to them when the stream is steady. But having it cut off every 5 minutes is just awful. Can't enjoy listening to the match without it. If it's ever like that will always turn to BBC if it's available, otherwise I probably won't listen at all.

All of you filling in your RP bingo cards can tick off "this god forsaken league" from this thread. If you missed it appearing in another thread earlier today. People...stop being hysterical calling it that. It's a league marginally worse than the one above it.

So to turn it on its head, you think the league above only has marginally better refereeing? Marginally better grounds? Marginally better way of organising festive fixtures? Just to name a few marginals...
