Ive decided Carrington is the cultured midfielder we've craved and he'll be the main man in our promotion campaign.

For the record I feel Carrington is a valuable part of the squad but I'm not under the illusion that he is ever going to be our creative maestro.

More importantly successive managers have been happy for him to have a role in the team

Solid but unspectacular in a football sense, I'm glad he is in the team/squad.
Totally agree. Carra seems to be becoming the boo boy. Shame really cos he is committed to our club, and does his best. At times maybe it isn't enough, if we want to get promotion, but as you say here, his job is always going to be more of a holding midfielder, breaking up the play etc. And he is cover for a number of positions. If anything I do personally just think maybe he could work on his game during training, to at least sometimes be geared up to play the ball forward rather than back or sideways. But who knows he may even be being told by the management team not to look to knock it forward but to just play it back, keep possession etc. As you say, successive managers have valued Carra.

Wonderful moment, but doesn't change the fact that he's a limited player in terms of his skill and should only be considered as a squad player/utility filling in when required, rather than a starter, in a team with promotion aspirations.
