Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but looking at subsequent events at Brackley Town, you are probably right.

The owners and board made huge mistakes with Wilkin. Primarily allowing him to start here with the village idiot and rope ladder as his number two; Wilkin was inexperienced as a full time manager and clearly needed an experienced assistant. There is no doubt that he recruited well, and with better support he could have been fairly successful here.

I liked Wilkin - still do and think he's a decent manager on and off the field - remember him at John Neil's funeral where he led the team to the church.

What went wrong ? what came first, poor form or a players mutiny on the bounty ? I just think some of the senior pro's at the time stuck together and worked against him in an effort to oust him - and they got their wish.

However something at this club feels wrong - it doesn't seem to matter who we bring in they are not here long before the poison starts to rise - can't put my finger on it, maybe it's just massive high expectation that we should be doing far better and higher up the league standings with our stadium and fanbase.

A mere few weeks back people were talking us up as potential 'league champions' - a newly assembled incomplete squad managed by a man with no previous managerial experience in his first full season of management - for the majority of the time clubs who have stability long term tend to do better - an example Chris Kinnear at Dover looks solid - I think DK will hit stormy waters and all will not be rosy in the garden - but he's contracted for 3 years so when the going does get tough will we break the mould and for a change battle through the stormy waters or sack him and start all over again ?

Stick with DK like we did with Flynn.

We will continue to fail if we keeping ripping things up in desperation. No magic wand to create a promotion squad but DK has made some fundamental changes to how things are being run and we will reap the benefits if we can achieve some stability.

It doesn't help that I can't understand a word he says in interviews...
