I don't agree, give him the rough treatment.

One of the owners of a house that backs onto it opens his back gate when he has friends around and all the kids play on the field while the adults stand around drinking, he might be a good starting point as I think he assumes it's part of an extension to his back garden.

Be careful how you approach him though in case he has links to some dodgy people

A needless battle with the local golfers and kids who kick a ball around will backfire on the club. Many have played there for years. The club have the licence thanks to the goodwill of the locals so best keep it that way.
