We move on to the next possibility, whoever that may be, I'm sure Keates is no fool and wll already have a backup plan in place.
I'm with Keates.

You need to set a line. Cross it once and everyone will push for you to cross it again.

Besides if this deal was as done as he said it was, unless the agent has final say (unlikely) I can't see why the deal can't go through.

If you pick and choose - this player more valuable than that - the inconsistency will be used against us by agents and we will lose more than we gain by some distance.
Aye; it's certainly about more than one striker.

I'd just pay the man. He is his agent and that's part of the deal with most players these days. If he was worth chasing for all this time then we should pay him to get the deal over the line. Keates has wasted too much time on this one striker.

I'd say it's more like a recruitment agent. I'm certainly grateful for my recruitment agent for negotiating on my new job. It's probably even more important for footballers who have more specialised and non-standard contracts and frankly are not known to be the brightest.

Necessary but shouldn't be causing problems.

This reminds me of when we signed Tony Humes. Flynn refused to deal with the agent and pay any fees. Humes still signed but it took longer and he had to deal with his agents demands directly.

Wouldnt be suprised if this is the case

i fail to believe Keates has chased a player.. spoken to his club.. the player himself.. agreed terms with both club and player and his agent hasnt been involved in anyway at all.

im gonna "guess" it was a last ditch bid by the agent to try squeeze a few quid out of us.. knowing full well Keates has chased him fora fair while

i actually wouldn't be suprised if both aget and our club coime to an agreeement and the deals done.. and at moment both keates and agent are digging their feet in hoping other caves in for the deal to happen. before comming to an agreement.

I would say watch this space
You will still be watching then come the end of the season as I don't believe for one minute that the agent will cave in and why should he it's his way of paying his bills. Someone at our club and I suspect it's Keates has cocked up here and all we are left with is a load of bull and still no striker.
