Re: Why not Wrexham?
The majority of clubs survive and are run under private ownership. We're still in the minority as a fan owned club. Other teams survive under the private model, so there's no real reason that we couldn't.. Not every private owner is there to simply run a club into the ground, if that was the case the football pyramid would consist of about five clubs.

Re: Why not Wrexham?
Limited funds have been a key factor since WST takeover but the debt clearing excercise was completed well ahead of schedule albeit too quickley IMO at the cost of improving the team during the run in against Fleetwood.
Prudent cost saving by DK and BTB have improved the quality that Dean has brought in and with a total rebuild all players were not going to work out. Going forwards 'investment' is vital however we want to define it. Whether that is by expanding the WAFC board with some money men who will invariably then want a say in the way the club is run or other means is really open to debate. It is crucial the WST stay in overall control and overcome their fears and devolve some powers and responsibilities to investors in WAFC and then WST then look at the strategic direction of the club itself. The new company to control the running of the stadium is also vital for the long term as this really needs to be turning a profit asap. Its doubtful anyone is going to come forward and buy the club despite the obvious potential and the fact we already play in the lucky red colour. |
