I do think there is maybe something in players freezing when fans' expectations are so high but I blame the players not the fans for that.

Fans' expectations so high?? That'll be why the poor little lambs freeze then, bless them 😥😥

His display left a lot to be desired but if you think it had anything to do with being scared of his own shadow then you didn't understand what you saw. It's just typical that some thump their tubs about passion and such things when that has very little to do with it.

I didn't hear the sky pundits so will have to reserve judgement to some extent. However in the past I feel the same pundits often make simplistic assessments about how nice a team is, how passionate, how they aren't trying etc, to make up for a lack of in depth understanding about the technical aspect of the game.

We've become a club happy with mediocrity in many areas from catering through to the CoE, the same excuse of a lack of funds is used each time and many just accept it. It doesn't help that the fan base demand promotion every season, so any spare funds are directed into the playing budget at the expense of other key areas that would potentially generate even more income in the longer term.

Any criticism of the club, management team or board is jumped upon by the same group who never have a bad word said about them, let alone constructive criticism and on we plod at times. The same things regurgitated about being volunteers etc.

I think a fair proportion of the blame if you can call it that, lays at the feet of those us who attended the one thing we all agree on.

For too long we've been saying this or that can't be done mainly due to tight finances, many of us probably didn't believe fans could run a club many years ago, so anything's possible.

How can we be "too nice" when managers are sacked and players released when we don't achieve our goal; namely a tilt at promotion?

The sky pundits were discussing Arsenal saying they were "too nice" particularly with Wenger and the players.

If anything, we were "too nice" with Brian Flynn accepting mediocre, league propping performances. What about Denis Smith who couldn't save us in his first season with us with a decent squad of players.

Are we really expected to behave like bastards? As a business, absolutely not. Unlike predecessors who've run the club, we honour debts/contracts.

If people believe we're "too nice", examples would be nice.

Why do you have to single out one player ? He`s not the only one under performing , what about Kelly, Boden , Mackreth , Jennings , Roberts ? are they doing well ?
sticking the boot in one young Lad Does`nt help Him .

Its football ffs. Not the right profession if you cant take criticism.

Players have to take responsibility for their performances at any level.

Improvements need to be continual and I think the WAFC board needs to be re-structured with the WST concentrating on strategic areas.

Small changes here and there can make a difference when combined.

On the pitch DK has some big decisions to make quite early in the season but I think has budget left to do it and hopefully the balls to take them.

"too nice' to succeed and lacking toughness?"

For me... NO

Far too much expectation and pressure from the Fans., we are a fan owned club and our fans are very vocal when not happy.
