Are Swansea also hamstrung by this or is it different with them being under the auspices of the FA Premier league ? If it's geographical then it should apply to all Welsh teams within the English system.

It doesn't apply to them because the Premier League's transfer window ends at the same time as the Welsh one. Same goes for Newport and Cardiff in the football league.

The transfer window was only removed for National league and below. There were no changes for clubs higher up the league's.

It is my understanding that we were compensated somewhat by not having the loan restrictions imposed on other clubs.
