Default Carl Darlington - the X factor!

It is no coincidence that since Carl Darlington has come back as first team coach our playing style and formation have improved.

He is a much sought after coach and we are lucky to have him (even part time) because he wants to keep his job with the Welsh F.A.

When he was here last we went on a long unbeaten run and I think he would have been offered the managers job but he doesn't want that position.

The fact he is a fan of the club as well is an added bonus!

As with the acquisition of players we must also applaud Keates for accommodating CD on the management staff. It takes a strong man and to acknowledge and accept that he needs help.

Wasn't that long ago that his contribution was being questioned by some on here, but it is clear that we have some tactical nous this season.

Give it another defeat and they shall return Seriously you don't get to where he is in the coaching world by being crap. Been down a couple of times to see them train and for any coaches locally it is a free lesson in how to take a coaching session.

Well said.

The problem is people like Darlington and Keates with their stellar coaching and playing careers are ultimately judged by the fans who (mostly) don't have any coaching badges or have only played to a local level. But that's the game we all love!

To be fair I didn't see much tactical nous in the games we've lost!

Early days but better players, a passionate manager and a good coach is a good start.

Agreed, and we haven't conceded a second half goal yet this season! Must be linked to fitness and team set up.
