I was annoyed that S4C seemingly because our Manager was apparently a non Welsh speaker, Osian Roberts, assistant manager gave the after match assessment instead of Chris Coleman, in my mind taking the exclusive Welsh language a bit too far.The OP was right to be disgruntled.

Woodburn gave his interview in English after the Austria game.

You won't hear anything from Ramsey, apparently he can't do an interview on S4C due to him doing them early on in his career in Welsh, but due to being ridiculed for his Welsh as he's like myself, not from a immediate Welsh speaking family, his Welsh doesn't flow like others so at time's he's comes across as being uncomfortable, his own countrymen ripped into him about it. As a result he wanted to conduct them in English, but S4C being backwards as they are won't do it nor allow him to do them in Wenglish or ask the questions in Wlsh and allow him to answer in English to build his confidence in the language up again.

Such a shame we have people like that, particularly as the language is just about surviving. My secondary Welsh teacher was a snob whch has now made me very reluctant to use it also.

Nope. The OP was wanting a choice of English commentary on the red button or BBC to show the game. What is it that you aren't getting? It a contractual agreement that s4c can't do this. And BBC do no have the rights to show it either. so either pay your subscription and watch Sky or be thankful that the only channel for Welsh speakers has negotiated the right to broadcast the game.

I remember Ramsey posted on Tw@tter in Welsh and got roundly ridiculed for it - you know the stuff 'You felt asleep typing' etc. That might have something to do with his reluctance to be interviewed also.

I can't speak that much Welsh but my parents and grandparents did. I wish my kids had the opportunity to learn but living in England it's not possible. For me the preservation of Welsh is incredibly important and S4C is a vital part of that.

As the old saying goes 'A nation without a language is a nation without a heart'.
