DK needs to get a striker in that he's been chasing for months. It's taking too long now he needs to make a decision and then get someone in.

The other side to this is that by being flexible we show ourselves to be a good club to work with for league 1 / championship clubs. For Reid getting game time and then going back sharp and in the frame for 1st team slot makes us attractive to better strikers (or any position) at league 1 / championship clubs who are on the verge of first team positions.

Reality is though we need a main striker for the club who isn't a loan signing. Hopefully Boden will come good and Massanka continues his improving form but we need a permanent striker signed to the club who's the first on the team sheet.

He's on the verge of their 1st team squad - not necessarily ready to start games, or even be on the bench yet.

Striker Devante Cole, son of Andy Cole, has scored 4 in 4 appearances for Fleetwood this season, and seems to be making his mark in a team that hasn't been short of other goal scorers either.

I don't expect that they will be in a mad panic to have Reid back, hence DK's confidence that his loan can be extended. It buys us time to sign a replacement, at worst, and he'll hopefully bang in a few more for us before he does eventually leave.

Piley is still bankrolling them.

So if we can get another month great, but he will be going back then I'm sure, first as even if he doesn't get in the first team they'd as someone else said upthread loan him out to a league club. Second they don't need the money from a loan fee.

We will still need a permanent striker I agree. However if we are getting a good reputation with league clubs in how we treat loan players like him and Massanka that will help Keates and the club out in the future.
