I genuinely believe that the team needs more time to gel. I'm not convinced a) the personnel is right; and b) we're getting enough from our wingers and strikers.

Have our wingers or first choice strikers actually scored yet?

So, we're playing shite, very disjointed football yet we're 2 points from the top of the league and unbeaten in 6....thanks to Pearson.

Don't disagree with any of your points Alan except maybe it's just thanks to Pearson Manny Smith has been just as good and I say that as someone who was not over the moon at resigning him, I'm chuffed he has proved me wrong on that.

I don't thing Keates Knows his best starting 11 yet and unfortunately some of his signings aren't doing the business or aren't good enough, that with his defensive tactics. But we're 2 points off top and missed 2 home chances to go top 3 bore draws equals 2 defeats and one win trying to win games that is why 3 points for a win was introduced to stop negative football. The last bit isn't aimed at you just incase 😎 it's just a comment on Keates tactics.

Pearson must have come off last night thinking he had just taken part in WWE wrestling match the way the Big no19 was man handling him at every corner.

If we win trannies all will be forgotten .....until we draw or lose
No team is storming away this year and IMO we won't see a breakaway top 5 teams until late January
Hopefully by then DK will get another couple in the building.

Come on Alan. Expecting a couple of midfielders to be able to play balls in behind or inside the fullbacks isn't asking a lot is it? We need our wide players to have chalk on their boots, we're too narrow. Kellly looked decent when he switched into the middle, he could well be the man to do it.

Agreed Dixie, Kelly when he was moved in the middle was our best player then Keates took him off.

Totally. He always gives 100%. Can't fault the guy for effort.

But effort is just him running, and generally not even pressuring the defenders. He set up their goal with a poor header. Failed to put a decent ball into the box (even his corners which have got him some assist this season were poor) and failed to take a good shooting opportunity again, this time electing to dive when there was a chance for a shot. Not good enough. The fact his main contribution seems to be picking the ball out of the net quickly sort of says it all

Exactly this, his effort is running around with his head down achieving nothing. How many tackles have you ever seen him make? How many times defensively is he caught out? How many times defensively does he lose the ball in dangerous positions? In attacking play how many times has have we ever seen him beat a man? Every corner he took landed in their keepers hands. He may be a good professional and work hard in training but he really is a poor poor player but he's 'busy' and 'works hard' so that's that.
